The first dham en route the yatra, is situated at Yamunotri – where the sacred river Yamuna originates. It is named after Goddess Yamuna, the twin sister of Yama (the goddess of death). A bath in the holy
waters of Yamuna River is said to cleanse one of the all sins and protects from untimely death. The temple houses a black marble idol of the goddess.

Early morning drive to barkot via dehradun and mussoorie enroute
visit kempty fall ,mussoorie lake and later continue drive to barkot
check in hotel/camp .
Early morning after breakfast drive to jankichatti /phoolchatti and trek
to here yamunotri(7 km trek) (either by walk ,horse,dolly at own cost
).After taking bath in JamunaBai kund”s warm water and cook rice by
packing it in a cloth and dipping it in the water of the host kund.
Pilgrims take this cooked rice home as ‘Prasad’ . Having darshan of
“Yamunaji” return to jankichatti by trek . Overnight stay at Barkot.
